Flexible vinyl floor planks are waterproof, durable and easy to install. With the look and feel of real wood, but with the ease of care and flexibility of vinyl planks is a perfect solution for areas subject to high humidity or exposure to water. Flexible vinyl planks are available as self-adhesive and glue down, but the most popular is the style floating. Unlike adhesive or glue boards down, most flexible vinyl floating boards are suitable for installation over existing vinyl floors, uneven floors, with defects and even ceramic tiles.
Place the vinyl floor planks in the room at least 48 hours before installation. This will condition the boards and prevent problems of expansion / contraction after installation. Remove the furniture in the room. Remove the baseboards of the room. Patch any holes, tears or breaks in the existing floor. If this is of ceramic tiles and grout lines have built more than 1/8 inch deep, apply a thin layer of a compound for leveling the floor and fill the grout lines. Thoroughly clean the vinyl floor planks and vacuum the dust of the room.
